Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a Traffic Engineer II to join our team in our Atlanta - Peachtree Corners office. This role will involve performing conventional and moderately-complex engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analyses within a discipline.

The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing traffic impact studies and developing and assessing design and/or operational alternatives in accordance with local, state and federal policies and requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in analysis, design and implementation of projects such as traffic impact studies, traffic operations studies, capacity analysis, traffic signal design, signal timing, signing, striping, and traffic control plans
  • Provide support for other engineering activities as required
  • May supervise one or more subordinates and provide input regarding performance
  • May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a lead engineer for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate-size project
  • Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project

Qualifications:

  • 5 years or more of Traffic/Transportation Engineering experience
  • Background in performing traffic counts, travel time runs and roadway element inventories
  • Traffic Signal design; and signal timing development tools experience
  • Familiarity with MUTCD and HCM
  • Working knowledge of traffic analysis and simulation software (Synchro, HCS, VISSIM,) as well as Microstation or AutoCAD
  • Proficient working knowledge of, and strong hands-on experience with, major types of technical analyses
  • Exposure to transportation issues in a greater metropolitan region and ability to work with stakeholders
  • Bachelors degree in Civil engineering or a related Degree from an accredited institution
  • PE Registration is preferred

Salary Range:

$70,000 - $145,800.00
