Safety Engineer Co-Op

About the Role
Messer Construction Co. is a leading construction manager and general contractor that provides leadership for complex commercial building projects. As an employee-owned company, we are committed to building better communities.
We are seeking a Safety Co-op to join our team and support our projects and personnel with safety responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-construction safety meetings and contractor safety orientations
- Perform weekly site safety inspections and research on safety topics
- Develop and implement employee safety training programs
- Organize and lead project safety committees
- Track and identify safety trends and provide coverage for the Safety Coordinator when needed
- Manage the distribution of safety equipment to job sites
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management with a focus on Safety or a related field
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
