About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Safety Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Workplace Health and Safety organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Amazon Worldwide Design Engineering teams to ensure new equipment and modifications comply with applicable codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Lead risk assessments, assist in equipment design development, and provide guidance on control systems and devices.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and operations teams to drive a systematic approach to risk identification, mitigation, and management.
  • Travel 25-50% of the time to support global projects and initiatives.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience in safety engineering programs in manufacturing or production environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Instrumentation, Production, Manufacturing, Safety Engineering) from an accredited school.
  • Knowledge of international and EU/NA standards, such as EU Machinery Directive, ISO, ANSI, OSHA, NFPA.
  • Experience working with National Recognized Test Laboratory (NRTL) and Notified Bodies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Distribution Center or Manufacturing experience with a mix of exempt and non-exempt employees.
  • CSME or other functional safety certification.

Amazon offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $128,600/year to $213,600/year, depending on location. We also offer equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
