Role Overview: We are seeking a collaborative Project Engineer to enhance our Surface Transportation Group. This role involves engaging in analysis and design tasks pertinent to surface transportation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and initiating technical design concepts and details.
  • Conducting studies and proposing design solutions.
  • Preparing comprehensive plans, specifications, and cost estimates adhering to relevant design standards.
  • Providing technical support during construction phases, including submittal reviews and site inspections.
  • Overseeing junior engineers, technicians, and interns, ensuring project deliverables align with expectations.
  • Collaborating with other Project Engineers and R&M disciplines to ensure project success.

Professional Development: The successful candidate will represent R&M in professional organizations and community engagements, fostering relationships and enhancing the firm’s presence.

Reporting Structure: The Project Engineer will report directly to a Senior Project Engineer, based on the organizational structure for specific projects.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in civil design, particularly in highway and street design.
  • Experience in design analysis, traffic engineering, drainage design, and construction bid document preparation is preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities are essential.
  • Alaska PE license required or eligibility to obtain through reciprocity.
