Job Summary:

As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care by performing ultrasound examinations and interpreting images to aid in diagnosis. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Perform ultrasound examinations on patients as requested by referring physicians, using a variety of equipment and techniques to obtain high-quality images.
  2. Interpret images and provide reports to radiologists and other healthcare professionals to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
  3. Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information, examination results, and other relevant data.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and to provide education and support to patients and families.
  5. Stay up-to-date with the latest advances in ultrasound technology and techniques, and participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and improve skills.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience as a sonographer, including on-the-job training and internships.
  • Completion of an ARDMS-accredited or equivalent program in ultrasound technology.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification, with abdominal or obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) specialty.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to lift and move patients, as well as stand and walk for extended periods.
