Job Description

We're hiring at Starling Physicians, a VillageMD company.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Prepare examination rooms and escort patients to the room.
  • Clean examination rooms after each use.
  • Maintain efficient patient flow and ensure proper preparation for patient visits.
  • Communicate and provide care consistent with the age, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs of the patient.
  • Answer phones in an appropriate manner and direct calls or take accurate messages.
  • Schedule appointments accurately and consistently stock examination rooms with necessary supplies.
  • Assist in ordering and maintaining supplies as assigned.
  • Reconcile encounters daily and accurately, according to policy guidelines.
  • Effectively communicate problems, concerns, or issues to the Supervisor and/or Manager.
  • Understand and perform within the scope of practice.
Obtains Vital Signs:
  • BP, temp, pulse, height, and weight accurately and completely as required.
  • Document appropriately in EHR.
  • Reviews and updates medication lists and accurately documents new allergies in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Demonstrates an understanding of prescription control and prescription refill procedures.
General Job Functions:
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Physical mobility, including movement from place to place on the job.
  • Physical agility, including the ability to maneuver the body while in place.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers.
  • Endurance, including continuous typing, prolonged standing/bending, and walking.
Environmental Risks:
  • Allergens, including dust, mold, and/or pollen.
  • Combative patients or visitors.
Education, Certification, Computer, and Training Requirements:

High School Graduate/GED or equivalent in conjunction with a Medical Assistant Certification, Phlebotomy Certification, or Patient Care Tech Certification from an accredited program.

0-1 year related work experience, required. 2-4 years related work experience, preferred.

Basic Life Support (BLS) or within 30 days of hire, required.

Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, required.

Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner, required.

Basic proficiency in computer use, required.

Ability to commute to satellite offices as needed, required.

Travel:

Travel to satellite locations as needed.
