Our client, a prominent publicly traded retail organization, is in search of a Lead Financial Strategist to enhance their team.

Compensation:

$80k – $90K plus Bonus

Role Overview:

We are looking for a highly proficient and driven Lead Financial Strategist to become a part of our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) division. The Lead Financial Strategist will be pivotal in delivering financial insights, managing budgets, forecasting, and conducting analyses to facilitate strategic decision-making and bolster business performance. This role demands exceptional analytical capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and collaborative engagement across various departments.

Key Responsibilities of the Lead Financial Strategist:
  • Serve as a vital member of a highly skilled Finance team, acting as the subject matter expert on financials for the business unit.
  • Collaborate with diverse departments to collect data and provide financial insights that align with business objectives and strategies.
  • Assist in the formulation and execution of budgets, forecasts, variances, and long-term strategic plans.
  • Develop executive summaries for Senior Management and leadership, while implementing and maintaining operational reports and analyses to support corporate strategic initiatives.
  • Present monthly trends to business unit leaders and manage forecast adjustments.
  • Facilitate effective decision-making through analyses such as financial models, cost assessments, ROI, and proformas.
  • Continuously enhance FP&A processes, tools, and systems to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function.
  • Aid in the preparation and completion of budgets, forecasts, and long-term plans.
  • Evaluate actual performance against budget/forecast and monitor trends of key performance indicators.
  • Analyze intricate financial data and reports to provide timely and accurate financial recommendations to management for informed decision-making.
  • Support Senior Management and departments with comprehensive analyses, including financial models.
  • Utilize SQL queries to extract data for ad-hoc analyses and special projects.
  • Implement and engage with Business Intelligence tools and dashboards.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
  • Enhance existing reporting and processes to drive efficiencies.
  • Assist in preparing presentations for Senior Management and leadership.
Qualifications for the Lead Financial Strategist:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, ideally within the retail sector.
  • Ability to operate independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with functional leaders and effective teamwork.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and data analysis abilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and key financial metrics.
  • Proficient communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Innovative, proactive, and self-motivated.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Experience in various financial analysis and forecasting responsibilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Effective data visualization skills in tools such as PowerPoint and Power BI.
  • Familiarity with financial planning software and ERP systems (Prophix, SAP, Oracle).
  • Proficient knowledge of Databases, SQL queries, and Data Analysis.
Educational Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is mandatory.
  • An MBA or CPA is preferred.
