Fabrication Quality Control Specialist

Job Summary:
The Fabrication Quality Control Inspector at PowerSecure is responsible for ensuring the quality and conformity of welds, paint, powder coat, and metal fabrication for products manufactured, packaged, and assembled at the DI Campus and Randleman location.
The individual will ensure that all fabricated material meets predefined inspection criteria and conforms to design documents, customer specifications, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards, procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
- Approve finished products by confirming specifications, including proper dimension, joint strength, weld penetration, and conformance with work-order specifications.
- Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products and document inspection results by completing reports and logs.
- Identify and follow proper procedure for all non-conforming material and assist in ensuring all non-conforming reports (NCR) are tracked and recorded.
- Communicate and cooperate with the engineering, manufacturing, and quality department to ensure quality compliance and continual product improvement.
Requirements:
- 2+ years' experience in roles related to quality assurance and/or fabrication.
- Recognize and understand a wide variety of welding techniques.
- Weld, Paint, or Fabrication knowledge and experience is required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, mechanical drawings, Weld and Coating symbols, work instructions, and written directions.
- Must be capable of using computer software to enter information in a database.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Excellent proficiency of the English language (verbal communication, listening, written communication).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Associate Welding Inspector (CAWI) Paint Inspector qualification, and/or Certified Quality Inspector (CQQI).
Working Conditions:
The typical work environment will be a conditioned space with limited local travel required. The individual must be able to work in confined spaces, position themselves in various positions, including low to the ground or high up on equipment, and lift 50lbs and manipulate heavy test equipment and cables.
