Welder Fabricator

The Fabrication Welder is responsible for fabricating items including, but not limited to jigs, racks, conveyors, platforms, material handling and storage items. The selected individual will be responsible for the verification and installation process for different Creative Center work orders.

1. Fabricate all required parts to engineering drawings provided or using rough sketch provided on the work request. Create sketches from measurements when no information is available.
2. Assess jobs and calculate material needed.
3. Perform all measurements required to confirm part quality based on requirements after completion.
4. Paint completed jobs requiring a paint finish.
5. Perform machine checks on creative center equipment.
6. Maintain accurate time records for jobs.
7. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by complying with safety and 5s requirements.

1. Associates Diploma in Welding Technology or a related technical trade.
2. 3-5 years of hands-on manufacturing fabrication welding experience.
3. Demonstrates commitment to "Safety First".
4. Ability to identify different sheet steel gages.
5. Ability to setup and run all machines located in the creative center, including but not limited to shear, press brake, iron worker and vertical saw.
6. Proficient in MIG welding with the ability to select proper current and wire speed based on material.
7. Proficient in TIG welding with the ability to weld carbon steels, stainless steels, and aluminum to meet weld design specifications. Ability to select proper current and filler based on material.
8. Respirator certified or ability to become certified for painting.
9. Have or be able to obtain an ANC forklift license.
10. Knowledge of basic crane operation and safety along with a comfort level in attending continual training.
11. Competent math skills needed to calculate points, angles, etc. when performing fabrication work.
12. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings (part and assembly).
13. Perform all measurements required to confirm part quality based on engineering drawing after completion.
14. Possesses strong initiative and diligence.

17. Ability to work under limited time constraints. Able to multi-task and work under pressure.
18. Ability to work overtime including weekends as needed.
