About Us:

We are a rapidly expanding Land Management firm seeking a Fund Accountant with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience to become a vital part of our team.

The ideal candidate will possess a background in public accounting or have extensive experience in financial reporting. We are open to providing training in fund accounting for those without direct experience, and a CPA designation is preferred.

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring 3 days in the office.

Position Overview

The Fund Accountant plays a crucial role in generating financial reports for various funds, monitoring the organization’s assets, liabilities, and overall financial performance. This position involves addressing moderately complex issues where a thorough analysis of diverse factors is necessary.

The Fund Accountant is responsible for ensuring adherence to accounting standards, maintaining transparency in fund transactions, and delivering timely and accurate reports to stakeholders and regulatory bodies. By providing essential financial insights and managing fund documentation, Fund Accountants support informed decision-making and enhance investor trust and the effective management of investment portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, including footnotes, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), fund agreements, and investor reporting standards.
2. Manage investor capital calls, distributions, wire transfers, and reporting.
3. Support the audit process for multiple funds.
4. Forecast asset performance utilizing internal asset management models.
5. Conduct hold/sell analyses for company investments.
6. Prepare reconciliations for cash funds and investment positions.
7. Monitor fund-level expenses, accruals, capital calls, distributions, management fees, and incentive fees.
8. Assist in coordinating audits and tax reporting with both internal and external accounting firms.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA designation is highly desirable
  • 2-3 years of experience in Public Accounting or a related field
