The Position

We are seeking an experienced Avionics Technician to join our team. As an Avionics Technician, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining avionics equipment on customer and company-owned aircraft. You will work closely with our Service Center team to ensure that all avionics systems are functioning properly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install new avionics equipment on Part 23 airplanes and Part 27 helicopters
  • Troubleshoot and repair installed avionics systems on customer-owned aircraft
  • Maintain avionics systems on Hillsboro Aviation-owned aircraft
  • Ensure the avionics shop is clean and organized
  • Offer innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Adhere to FAA Part 145 Repair Station practices
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers
  • Present a professional attitude and appearance
Qualifications:
  • FCC - General Radio Telephone Operators License
  • NCATT - Aircraft Electronics Technician Certification (recommended)
  • Graduate from an Aviation Electronics training school or program
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with avionics installations and repair of avionics systems in general aviation aircraft
  • Experience with avionics systems in single and multi-engine airplanes and helicopters
  • Experience with Garmin, Bendix-King, ARC, S-Tec, Avidyne, Sandel, and Chelton Avionics systems
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • System integration experience
  • FAA Repairman's Certificate or eligibility
  • A&P license
  • FAA pilot's license
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and computer-aided drafting
