Job Summary

Aero Air, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Avionics Technician to join our team. As an Avionics Technician, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, adjusting, and repairing avionics equipment such as radio, navigation, autopilot, or other control systems in aircraft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and analyze technical data to perform inspections, testing, and repairs of avionics equipment.
  • Inspect components of avionics equipment for defects and accuracy of assembly and installation.
  • Test avionics equipment under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness.
  • Continual use of test equipment, such as comm/nav/pulse simulators, digital meters and counters, and circuit analyzers.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective components based on analysis of test results.
  • Lay out installation of aircraft assemblies and systems, following documentation such as blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents.
  • Calibrate installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications.
  • Keep records of maintenance and repair work.
  • Occasional travel to perform duties away from base.
  • Repair and maintenance of company equipment.
  • Maintains reliable, regular, and predictable attendance.
  • Successful completion and favorable results of pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background check.
  • Adhere to all Aero Air policies and standards of conduct.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time.
  • Must maintain a valid U.S./state issued driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment and computer hardware and software including applications and programming.
  • Strong mathematical skills and the ability to apply relating specifically to the duties and responsibilities of the position.
  • The ability to demonstrate poise, tact, and professionally interact and communicate with employees, vendors, and individuals at all levels of the organization and community.
  • Service-oriented and able to build productive professional relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
  • FCC General Radio Operator License preferred.
  • Airframe and Powerplant License preferred.
  • Garmin experience highly desirable.
  • Corridor and maintenance/parts manual access software is desired.
  • Experience with Lear 45, Pilatus, Phenom, Mustang and Gulfstream, or any combination of these aircraft.
  • Post-secondary education or training in aircraft maintenance or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Working Conditions
  • Working near moving mechanical parts and near fumes or airborne particles, toxic, or caustic chemicals.
  • Work is typically performed in an indoor hangar or outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions.
  • Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times without assistance.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds with assistance.
  • Requires the ability to read, hear, talk, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb all day.
  • Accurate hand/eye coordination.
  • Finger dexterity is required as well as hand strength, with the ability to grasp, lift, push and pull.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally required to climb on a ladder.
  • Ability to wear and utilize personal protective equipment.
