Job SummaryWe're seeking a skilled Patient Service Representative to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities- Greet patients, families, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, directing them to the appropriate area.
- Maintain an efficient patient flow through the registration process, providing excellent customer service.
- Promptly answer phone calls, direct calls appropriately, and take accurate messages.
- Inform patients of delays in physician schedules and assist with patient comfort while waiting.
- Post self-pay charges, collect payments, and provide patients with receipts.
- Reconcile daily payments, prepare deposits, and document corrections.
- Scan insurance cards, process verifications, and update patient accounts.
- Schedule appointments accurately, using waitlists when necessary, and confirm future appointments.
- Work cooperatively with Patient Care Resources and clinical staff to ensure timely pre-authorizations.
- Complete referrals according to departmental guidelines and enter them into the appropriate system.
- High School Graduate or GED required; Associate Degree preferred.
- Previous PSR experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner.
- Knowledge of medical office terminology preferred.
- Basic proficiency in computer use required.
