Dental Hygiene Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Dental Hygiene Specialist to join our team at the Interior Community Health Center. As a key member of our dental team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and promoting oral health in our community.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care through prophylaxis, fluoride treatment, sealants, patient education, and perio scaling and root planing.
- Assess patient medical history and clinical evidence of periodontal health.
- Take and process dental x-rays and deliver local anesthesia as requested by and under supervision of a dentist.
- Apply fluorides and other medications as necessary and accurately record treatment in electronic health records.
- Recognize and respond to emergencies and attend meetings.
- Comply with dental office and corporation policy and procedures consistently in all aspects of employment.
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene school; Bachelor's Degree with a major in Dental Hygiene preferred.
- State of Alaska Dental Hygiene License required; State of Alaska Restorative Function Endorsement preferred; State of Alaska Anesthesia License preferred.
- Current certification in BLS.
- Two - five years experience required; experience serving a diverse patient population across the lifespan required.
- Experience with DENTRIX preferred.
