KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Chief Financial Officer will oversee the financial operations of the organization, which encompasses financial planning, reporting, strategic initiatives, and collaboration.

  • Provide guidance and consultation to the President & CEO and staff on financial matters, along with supervisory and technical support to finance personnel.
  • Advise on strategic direction and develop operational strategies for financial management that align with the organization's strategic planning.
  • Initiate and implement financial systems that adapt to the evolving needs of CFS; oversee budgeting and accounting functions.
  • Lead the Finance Department effectively.
  • Contribute as a member of the Executive Leadership Team.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • A Master's Degree from an accredited institution is required, demonstrating advanced knowledge.

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of six years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated increasing responsibility, including leadership of a significant financial unit/division with a focus on financial planning, budgeting, and accounting.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proven leadership and team-building capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, teaching, and computer skills.
  • Knowledge of fund accounting and current standards for non-profit organizations.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and a solid understanding of cost accounting.
  • Preferred experience in business plan development and unit cost analysis for various lines of business.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • A valid driver's license and a clear driving record are required, along with a willingness to travel as needed.
  • This position is subject to a criminal background check, and continued employment is contingent upon a clear record.
  • Regular interaction with individuals both inside and outside the organization is necessary to provide information and participant services, requiring courtesy, tact, and discretion.
