About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team at J.E. Dunn Construction Group. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of our safety culture, creating awareness, and mentoring others to ensure a injury-free environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the JE Dunn prestart process, including quantity takeoff, trade coordination, and scope of work development.
  • Support the preconstruction team in scope review, bid package development, schedule development, bid list creation, and bid advertisement.
  • Lead the plan and implementation of buyout schedule, verifying pricing and scope, identifying successful bidders, and managing issuance of subcontracts.
  • Manage the submittal schedule set-up, coordinating priorities with the team, reviewing and approving shop drawings and samples prior to submittal to architects or engineers.
  • Ensure approved submittals are returned to subcontractors and available to the project team per the project schedule and contract.
  • Coordinate with Logistics to obtain pricing on materials and equipment.
  • Confer with risk management to ensure approval and/or bonding requirements for subcontractors, reviewing decisions with the project leader and providing ongoing risk analysis throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders, including subcontractors, owners, field teams, design teams, vendors, and others.
  • Disseminate change requests to subcontractors for pricing and schedule input, gathering and evaluating subcontractor pricing to confirm accuracy.
  • Prepare, submit, and obtain owner/architect approval for change requests.
  • Lead various meetings, including monthly project reviews, progress meetings, and OAC (Owner Architect) meetings.
  • Complete monthly subcontractor and owner pay application process.
  • Prepare project schedules with the Project Superintendent, gathering input from the project team and utilizing Lean principles as appropriate.
  • Identify potential schedule impacts, including scope, weather, manpower, and changes, and facilitate mitigation plans for these impacts.
  • Provide written documentation for decisions affecting various aspects of the project, including budget, schedule, legal, quality, and/or safety.
  • Provide regular reporting and analysis to the project team to communicate overall project status and profitability.
  • Prepare monthly cost and margin forecasts with input from the superintendent and review with the project team, participating in the development of the project budget, and regularly reviewing costs relative to the budget to highlight discrepancies.
  • Lead the overall project closeout process, using best practice standards, tools, and processes, including the close-out punch list, financials, subcontracts, warranties, and others.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of construction management experience.
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • May require periods of travel and/or relocation.
  • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs.
  • May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold).
  • Assignment location may include project sites and/or in the office.
