Job Overview

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Nuclear Facility Operations Supervisor to join our Characterization and Advanced Post Irradiation Department. This role is pivotal within our Hazard Category 2 Nuclear facility, aligning with INL's mission to advance research in next-generation nuclear power and the development of advanced nuclear fuels and materials. Our team operates on a 4x10 schedule, enjoying every Friday off.

The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all daily activities, research, and maintenance operations within the nuclear facility. As the first line of management, you will provide both managerial and technical guidance to personnel engaged in activities within the assigned facility. You will also implement all responsibilities outlined in the Management Model.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage operations personnel and maintenance activities within the facility, ensuring mission goals are met.
  • Supervise ongoing experiments, ensuring compliance with approved procedures and governing work control protocols.
  • Direct operations staff to ensure safe and compliant execution of scheduled work activities.
  • Collaborate with training personnel to establish and manage qualification programs for facility tasks.
  • Maintain facility configuration in accordance with the authorized safety basis.
Qualifications:
  • A relevant Bachelor's degree with 4 years of experience, or a vocational certificate with 10 years of experience, or 12 years of relevant nuclear experience or Nuclear Facility Supervisor qualification.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Must possess or have previously held Fissile Material Handler qualification.
  • Complete and maintain all certification requirements for nuclear facility Shift Supervisors, including supervisory skills training and examinations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, requiring U.S. Citizenship.
