Control Room Operator

Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking a highly skilled Control Room Operator to join our team in the Building Operations department. As a Control Room Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining facility and process systems in our nuclear facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain facility and process systems in nuclear facilities, including receiving, storing, packaging, tracking, and analyzing nuclear material.
- Support researchers with loading/unloading/maintaining advanced research systems, remote handling equipment, shielded casks, facility utilities, operational support systems, gloveboxes, shielded hot cells, and testing equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of facility operations, equipment performance, production, treatment, and experimental data.
- High School Diploma and four+ years of experience working in a similar nuclear environment, or a Vocational or technical certification such as Energy System Technology & Education Center (ESTEC), successfully completing required coursework and 2 years' experience, OR four years Nuclear Navy experience, nuclear NEC, Machinist's Mate (MM), Electrician's Mate (EM), or Electronics Technician (ET).
- Relevant experience gained in multiple industrial, laboratory, or commercial settings.
- Understanding of conduct of operations and a practical knowledge of basic engineering theory in electrical power distribution, instrumentation and control, nuclear physics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics.
- Candidates selected for interview will show successful completion of college-level or high school advanced placement math and science courses with a minimum of a 'C' grade as part of the interview process.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy 'L' / 'Q' clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
- Associate's degree or ESTEC Grad or Nuclear Navy experience.
