Nuclear Safety Engineer Associate

We are currently seeking a qualified individual to fulfill the role of a Nuclear Criticality Safety Engineer within the Naval Reactors Facility, a vital component of the Naval Nuclear Laboratory.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide independent oversight of fuel handling operations.
- Review and approve technical work documents and equipment designs related to fuel handling.
- Conduct surveillance and audits of fuel handling operations.
- Author or approve nuclear safety procedures.
- Deliver training on relevant topics to various groups across the organization.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in an engineering or science-related field from an accredited institution; or a Master's degree in a similar discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
A background in nuclear engineering or physics, or equivalent experience in nuclear safety.

Salary Range:
The annual pay range is $62,000 to $94,900. Salary is determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and market considerations.
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory operates under the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) through Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Our personnel are dedicated to advancing nuclear propulsion technology and training skilled nuclear operators to ensure the safe operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets.
