Project Engineer II Job Description

Altair is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer II to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. As a key member of our Integrated Product Development Team (IPDT), you will be responsible for leading New Product Development programs and providing technical leadership to internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain project Master Schedules aligned with customer milestones.
  • Prepare, review, and approve engineering drawings and documentation to support Qualification/Certification efforts.
  • Conduct project status and process presentations for leadership and external customers.
  • Interface with vendors and suppliers to ensure product and project compliance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
  • 2-8+ years of experience in metallic or composite ducting and motion compensator design per ARP 699 guidelines as Project / Systems Engineer, or equivalent experience in ECS, bleed air, or AMS system or component design.
  • Preferred experience with sheet metal and/or composite manufacturing / forming processes, analysis tools such as FEA / FEM tools, and CAD software.
  • Ability to read and support the creation of 3D models and 2D drawings with dimensioning and tolerance per ANSI/ASME Y14.5 standards.
