Job Description

Job Title: Director of Financial Operations

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Financial Operations to join our team at Alaska Society of CPAs. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, including financial planning, budgeting, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial plans and budgets to ensure the organization's financial stability and growth.
  • Oversee the financial reporting process, including the preparation of financial statements and other reports as required.
  • Manage the financial analysis and forecasting process to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
  • Supervise and mentor the finance team to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to ensure the organization's financial interests are protected.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and laws to ensure the organization is compliant with all relevant requirements.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a non-profit organization.
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, external auditors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to achieving results.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or CFA certification.
  • Experience with financial management software, such as MIP or Sage.
  • Knowledge of grant management and administration.
