Job Title: Custodian RW-3

DC Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodian RW-3 to join our team. As a Custodian RW-3, you will be responsible for performing a variety of general maintenance work and custodial tasks in a school to ensure a healthy, orderly, safe, and sanitary environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform general maintenance duties, including electrical, painting, and carpentry tasks.
  • Conduct ground maintenance and general cleaning responsibilities, including raking leaves, removing snow and ice, and cleaning floors and surfaces.
  • Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables, and maintain the cleanliness of restrooms and other areas.
  • Perform routine cleaning of classrooms and offices, and maintain the gymnasium by keeping it clean and tidy.
  • Work with teachers and other faculty members to arrange furniture and equipment in offices and classrooms.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in the education sector is a plus.
  • Computer literacy is preferred.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Working Conditions:

The Custodian RW-3 will work in a school environment, performing tasks both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather. The position requires physical fitness and the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
