Project Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team at J.F. Brennan Company, Inc. in La Crosse, WI. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion, and maintaining high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Administration: Prepare work scopes, organize cost structures, and update master schedules.
  • Contract Management: Identify, formalize, and submit contract modification proposals, and distribute change documents to affected parties.
  • Communication: Maintain consistent communication with project Superintendents to ensure safe, high-quality, and productive projects.
  • Financial Reporting: Update commitment and projection information, prepare monthly progress reports, and owner billing.
  • Bid Preparation: Assist estimating teams on bids, conduct quantity takeoffs, and review bid proposals.
  • Business Development: Assist in negotiating contract terms and conditions with clients.
  • Quality Control: Review subcontractor and vendor shop drawings, product data, and samples for compliance with contract documents.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction field, heavy civil, railroads, bridges, or marine construction.
  • Knowledge of earth anchor, soil retention walls, pile driving, auger cast piles, micro piles, wells, and helical piers preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, problem-solving skills, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to internal and external clients.
  • Knowledge of project management control systems (scheduling, cost control, procurement, value engineering, and estimating).
  • Able to read and interpret project specifications, prepare project submittals, and prepare post-job reports.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word, along with scheduling and project management software (i.e., Primavera P6, MS Project).
