Responsibilities

- Exhibit the ability to comprehend and interpret the surgical schedule, taking a proactive role in identifying necessary instruments and coordinating staff workflow.

- Show an advanced understanding of the protocols and policies essential for the decontamination and terminal sterilization of instruments, while implementing protective measures to ensure effective decontamination and sterilization.

- Demonstrate operational proficiency and technical expertise in utilizing equipment and supplies, with the capability to mentor new staff in the proper cleaning and secure storage of instruments and equipment.

- Maintain instruments and equipment in optimal working condition, promptly reporting any malfunctions, broken items, or unsafe instruments to the appropriate personnel.

- Exhibit a thorough understanding of various sterilization methods, including decontaminators, ultrasonic cleaners, washer sterilizers, and steam, plasma-hydrogen peroxide, and peracetic acid sterilization techniques.

- Take ownership of assigned tasks and responsibilities, as well as any additional duties as requested.

- Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating active listening skills and a willingness to share knowledge.

- Collaborate and engage with supervisors, colleagues, other departments, and all customer groups, showcasing our commitment to exceptional service.


Qualifications

Job Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Job Requirements: A minimum of one year of relevant experience in Central Supply and/or Sterile Processing within a healthcare setting. National Certification in Sterile Processing or equivalent is preferred.
