Overview:

Under the guidance of the Medical Call Center Manager, the Medical Services Call Representative is responsible for ensuring patients receive exceptional access to care by addressing their needs, preferences, and expectations throughout their healthcare journey.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver Outstanding Customer Service:

  • Welcome each patient in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming calls as necessary.
  • Provide patients with precise information regarding Fenway Health services and healthcare providers.
  • Escalate complex situations to the Supervisor as needed.
  • Act as a bridge between patients and the health center, aiming for effective resolution of inquiries.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality is upheld at all times.
  • Foster positive working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and the public.
Appointment Scheduling:
  • Coordinate appointments based on patient needs and provider availability.
  • Adhere to established protocols for booking, cancelling, and rescheduling appointments.
Documentation and Communication:
  • Utilize standardized workflows to document patient requests in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Accurately record patient inquiries and requests.
  • Determine the best course of action for patient requests by following established procedures.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one year of experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word), scheduling software, and EMR systems (Epic or similar).
  • Commitment to serving a diverse patient population.
  • Prior customer service experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Preferred Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and skills in managing complex patient situations.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Salary Range:

$22.62-$24.87 per hour ($44,100-$48,500)
