Commercial Lines Market Account Executive

As a Commercial Lines Market Account Executive at McGriff, you will play a key role in leading and coordinating marketing and service activities for new and renewal business. You will work closely with producers to identify and understand client needs, providing recommendations with supporting rationale. Your expertise in applicable coverages, carrier guidelines, alternative funding arrangements, underwriting, and legislative changes will be essential in building and growing relationships with clients, carrier representatives, and teammates.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a consultative point of contact for clients, identifying and understanding their needs and providing recommendations with supporting rationale.
- Assist producers in sales efforts, including responding to Requests for Proposals, participating in prospect meetings, and selling additional lines and endorsements that enhance coverage and meet client needs.
- Direct and lead mid-year reviews and annual stewardship meetings.
- Build and maintain key client and carrier relationships through phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Develop a working knowledge of the current marketplace and capabilities of providing alternatives for the transfer of risk.
- Coordinate and work closely with local and national leadership to drive LOB strategy and initiatives, as well as promote and drive utilization of best practices.
- Negotiate pricing, policy conditions, and terms with selected carriers, and decide the best carrier(s) for the client within marketing guidelines.
- Assist producers and account managers in collecting client information.
- Provide analyses and recommendations of coverage needs to producers and clients, assist in developing initial marketing and renewal strategies, and lead the execution of marketing and renewal strategies.
- Lead the renewal process, preparing company applications and submissions to appropriate markets.
- Assist producers in presenting coverage and renewal recommendations to clients.
- Assist assigned clients and teammates with service questions related to administration, billing, claims issues, and problem-solving.
- Work with account managers to schedule and conduct teammate meetings.
- Understand and utilize client management systems and other relevant technology platforms.
- Ensure service team procedures are appropriate and followed, and documentation and premium amounts are accurate.
- Assist in the collection of premium payments.
- Effectively resolve workflow issues in concert with account managers and client service specialists.
- Attend seminars, classes, and carrier meetings to stay up-to-date on new products and legislative changes.
- Lead, mentor, and train other account service teammates, demonstrating strong interpersonal and professional relationship-building skills.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and/or related experience.
- Six years of relevant insurance industry experience.
- Appropriate insurance license (Property & Casualty).
- Considerable knowledge of markets, policies, and coverage issues for all states and industries serviced.
- Organizational skills to plan and prioritize team workload, and oversee application of work flows and procedures.
- Leadership skills and service and team orientation to provide direction, praise, constructive feedback, and development to employees in a way that maximizes productivity and team morale.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive business relationships with clients, market contacts, and McGriff teammates.
- Strong persuasion skills and tact to obtain information, negotiate with markets, obtain commitment or payments due from others, and motivate staff.
- Discretion and problem-solving skills to analyze client information, proposal competitiveness, etc., and resolve client, market, and employee relations problems.
- Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel overnight.
