The Associate, Legal Entity Controller ("LEC") at Apollo Global Management is tasked with overseeing accounting functions at both the entity and departmental levels. This includes responsibilities related to strategic investments, journal entries, and comprehensive monthly analytics to ensure precise revenue, expense, balance sheet, and regulatory reporting for our management and advisory entities. The role also involves supporting the LEC team in all reporting aspects concerning Apollo Capital Solutions ("ACS"), which includes aiding in the organization and recognition of transactions for the Firm and its subsidiaries.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with Deal Professionals, Accounting Policy, Senior Management, and various teams within Apollo to ensure accurate accounting treatment and reporting for strategic investments.
  • Manage and oversee a controlled reporting platform in collaboration with strategic partners.
  • Prepare and report on monthly and quarterly ACS transaction fees and revenue shares; coordinate GAAP and Non-GAAP reporting requirements related to ACS revenue recognition.
  • Enhance and refine workflows related to GAAP to Non-GAAP reconciliation and FRE exclusion, focusing on process automation and efficiency.
  • Facilitate communication and decision-making with Finance Compensation and Strategic Incentive teams regarding compensation and expenses related to Strategic Investing across AGM platforms.
  • Work with Tax, Strategic Incentive, and Accounts Payable teams on tax-related accounting and disclosure requirements for strategic investments.
  • Uphold a robust SOX controls environment and ensure thorough documentation of SOX control processes.
  • Partner with Corporate & Finance Tech teams on the development and maintenance of FFHO Fund cube and other strategic technology initiatives.
  • Conduct detailed variance and fluctuation analysis for Balance Sheets and Income Statements in connection with internal reporting presentations.
  • Assist in the preparation and auditing of statutory Financial Statements.
  • Undertake ad hoc analyses and special projects as directed by Senior Management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting principles (CPA or CA designation preferred).
  • 4-6 years of relevant professional experience, ideally with a background in Big 4 or a combination of Big 4 and private sector experience.
  • Strong foundation in Financial Reporting is preferred.
  • Highly organized with a strong work ethic, capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion is essential for this role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for collaboration with various internal departments (e.g., Fund Controllers, Accounting Policy, Portfolio Company, Deal Professionals, etc.).

Pay Range

The compensation range for this position is between $121,500 and $175,000. This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on individual, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are influenced by various factors, including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts will be determined based on multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise.
