Clinical Nurse Specialist

Role:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to ensure the comfort and well-being of patients. This role involves preparing necessary equipment and assisting physicians during medical examinations and treatments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed medications and perform dressing changes.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and overall condition.
- Maintain accurate records regarding patient care, reactions, and progress.
- Act as a primary or associate nurse, contributing to the planning and execution of patient care.
- Guide and support all support staff within the department.
Unit Information:
The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) consists of 8 specialized beds, focusing on advanced cardiovascular services, including post-operative care for heart surgeries and vascular treatments. Our experienced RNs collaborate closely with cardiovascular surgeons and are extensively trained in patient care.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
- One year of nursing experience is preferred, but new graduates are welcome.
- Current RN License in Texas.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
Unit-Specific Certifications:
- NIHSS certification required within 90 days for specific ICU units.
- EKG certification required within 90 days for designated units.
- TNCC certification required within 18 months for trauma ICU.
- ENPC or PALS certification required within 18 months for trauma ICU.
