Job Summary

The Emergency Department Paramedic position is a critical role that requires a skilled and experienced professional to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. As a Paramedic in the Emergency Department, you will work closely with the Registered Nurse to provide care and support to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide rapid evaluation and treatment of life-threatening emergencies
  • Implement prescribed therapies within the scope of practice
  • Collaborate with the nursing and medical team to establish treatment goals
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Participate in shared governance and adhere to standards of care
  • Identify clinical priorities and initiate action to improve patient outcomes
  • Use medications, treatments, and protocols within the scope of practice
  • Document patient care and treatment in the Electronic Medical Record
Requirements
  • EMT-P licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification
  • 1 year of experience as a paramedic or 1 year of healthcare experience
