Overview

The New York Power Authority is seeking a dedicated professional to conduct thorough audits, assessments, and advisory services aimed at enhancing the organization's operational effectiveness. This role involves a systematic approach to evaluate and refine NYPA's governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks. The audits will focus on providing assurance regarding operational efficiency, financial reporting reliability, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Responsibilities will include auditing business processes, financial compliance, technology systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform internal audit functions across the organization, delivering independent and objective assessments that contribute to operational improvements.
  • Lead IT audit engagements, employing established methodologies while fostering collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
  • Produce high-quality documentation, including planning materials, audit programs, process flows, and initial reports, adhering to set timelines and budgets.
  • Identify significant risks and internal controls, develop or assess audit programs, and execute detailed control tests.
  • Utilize data analysis techniques to interpret findings and visualize results effectively.
  • Document audit findings, outlining root causes, risks, and actionable recommendations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as COBIT, NIST, ITIL, COSO, and IIA Standards.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and oversee audit projects.
  • Proficient in analyzing large datasets to identify anomalies and assess risks.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in auditing or a related discipline.
Travel Requirements

Willingness to travel up to 20% primarily within New York State.

The New York Power Authority is committed to equitable and competitive compensation. The estimated salary range for this position is between $95,000 and $131,000, with the final offer based on the candidate's relevant experience and qualifications.
