In partnership with our client, a leader in aviation safety and flight performance systems, we are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join their team. The Quality Assurance Manager will lead the Quality team, consisting of Quality Technicians and Quality Engineers, to ensure the consistent supply of high-quality products to customers. This role is critical in mitigating corporate and customer risks, as well as eliminating defects and waste in the manufacturing process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a departmental strategy aligned with company, corporate, and regulatory goals.
  • Oversee the end-to-end audit process (External and Internal), acting as the primary point of contact for certification bodies and auditors.
  • Ensure the Quality Management System (QMS) meets customer, internal, AS/ISO, FAA, and regulatory/legal requirements.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor the Quality Department staff, evaluating their performance and fostering professional development.
  • Support process owners in identifying, assessing, and mitigating QMS risks through regular KPI reviews and management collaboration.
  • Develop and oversee supplier quality assurance programs.
  • Review Manufacturing Procedures (MPs) and apply lean manufacturing methods to enhance efficiency, productivity, and overall quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain, to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage the Corrective Action processes and procedures, ensuring effective tracking and closure.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of purchasing and manufacturing work orders through the quality department.
  • Represent the Quality Department in various business process activities, including management reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze data and recommend equipment, process, and product improvements to management.
  • Communicate directly with customers and suppliers regarding quality requirements, performance trends, corrective actions, and quality surveys.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • 10 years of quality leadership experience in electronics manufacturing, including printed circuit board assembly, surface mount assembly technology, and electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Excellent strategic, interpersonal, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with the capability to set, respond to, and balance priorities.
  • Confidence and expertise in designing solution strategies for complex customer problems.
  • Ability to analyze, explain, and solve problems independently.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO9001/AS9100 standards, procedures, and policies.
  • Experience with lean Six Sigma concepts and processes (green/black belt preferred).
  • Epicor experience is preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop, document, and execute detailed quality plans.
  • Strong root cause analysis techniques with a track record of implementing corrective and preventative actions.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This role is responsible for the overall supervision of the Quality department, supporting the achievement of the company’s financial, customer satisfaction, and employee fulfillment goals.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or a minimum of ten years of experience in a manufacturing organization.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Quality experience; a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent is preferred.
  • Quality experience in an electronic assembly/test environment is beneficial.
