Overview:

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for assessing and verifying products at different phases of the manufacturing process. This role involves compiling and analyzing statistical data to ensure the quality and dependability of Blades and Blade Sub-Components.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Detects defects affecting Defects per Unit (DPU) and First Pass Yield (FPY) metrics, collaborating with Production and Technical Support teams to resolve issues. Maintains documentation to reinforce improvement strategies and provides coaching to production staff on approved manufacturing practices.
  • Manages Non-Conformance (NC) cases as assigned and assists factory personnel in their initiation. Responsible for containing non-conforming parts or products and supports the decision-making process for scrap or internal rework.
  • Ensures adherence to processes during non-standard work events to bring products back into compliance.
  • Conducts inspections and verifies materials against specifications for known defects, generating non-conformity reports as necessary.
  • Coordinates rework activities for NC parts or products in collaboration with Quality Engineers and Quality Technicians.
  • Provides independent quality approval for processes in which they were not involved in the manufacturing.
  • Facilitates Form, Fit, and Function testing for identified products and documents NC reports for parts that do not meet specifications.
  • Supports the production line by addressing potential quality issues and offering guidance on specifications. Acts as the primary contact for escalating quality concerns to Quality Technicians and Engineers.
  • Verifies that product requirements are met before release from manufacturing, including reviewing inspection journals and ensuring process documentation is complete. Inspects products for compliance with order specifications and the company's quality control system.
  • Compiles and communicates quality reports, presenting the quality status at daily meetings.
  • Ensures proper marking and quarantine of non-conforming materials in the MRB area and serves as the main contact for NC materials for the Material Review Board (MRB), facilitating quick disposition of NC materials and communicating results back to production teams.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Must be able to perceive alarms, timers, and follow verbal instructions.
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary.
  • Ability to work in various production environments without restrictions.
  • Flexibility to support different shifts as needed.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance is essential.

Education, Training, and Skills Required:

  • High school diploma or GED; four years of manufacturing experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong teamwork skills, adaptability, eagerness to learn new skills, excellent work ethic, dependability, and a commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions, correspondence, and memos. Capable of writing simple correspondence and effectively presenting information in small group settings.
  • Proficient in basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Experience in auditing, quality assurance/control/improvement, statistical tools, Six Sigma, statistical analysis, and SPC is preferred.

Days - Monday through Thursday
Nights - Monday through Thursday

Pay range is competitive and commensurate with experience.
