Position Overview:
The Marine Fleet Technician is responsible for conducting extensive and specialized mechanical repairs and overhauls on diesel and marine engines, along with associated marine systems and equipment. This role requires proficiency in interpreting schematic diagrams and technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations, ensuring no direct threat to the safety or health of oneself or others.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Install and refurbish pumps, compressors, clutches, and gearboxes.
- Assess marine engines and equipment to identify necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Maintain and repair hydraulic systems and valves.
- Utilize hand and power tools relevant to marine engine and equipment maintenance.
- Install and align shafting, pumps, engines, rudders, and steering mechanisms.
- Manage the removal and installation of propellers, bearings, and shafting.
- Conduct minor electrical system installations and repairs.
- Apply protective coatings to both the exterior and interior of vessels.
- Travel to remote ports as required (approximately 25% travel).
- Perform additional maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Adhere to the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) suitable for daily responsibilities.
- Maintain fitness for respirator use.
- Lift up to 50 pounds as necessary.
- Engage in repetitive climbing, bending, twisting, kneeling, and reaching.
- Work in environments with high noise levels daily.
- Access confined spaces as needed.
- Operate outdoors throughout the year.

Additional Requirements:
- Acquire a Merchant Mariner Credential within the first 180 days of employment.
