About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Global Category Senior Manager to join our team at MKS Instruments. As a subject matter expert in Machined Parts, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing a comprehensive category strategy that drives cost savings, risk assessment, and mitigation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with MKS engineers, SQEs, and regional category managers to create and implement a category strategy for Machined Parts, focusing on cost savings, risk assessment, and mitigation.
  • Solve complex problems that impact the organization's success, drawing on your experience to negotiate the lowest total cost of ownership, best price, OTD, lead times, customer satisfaction, and quality.
  • Collaborate directly with MKS Design Engineering and machining and mechanical product suppliers to develop specific supply strategies for key technologies and associated mechanical components.
  • Create a total cost of ownership model that includes the entire supply chain from sub-supplier, material, logistics, and other variables.
  • Take a leadership role in championing departmental or cross-functional engineering and sourcing initiatives to improve reliability, cost, and lead time.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree or above in Material, Mechanical Engineering, and/or Supply Chain, or equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge and market intelligence of machining methods/techniques, materials (metal, non-metal), mechanical components, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing methodology, and special processes relevant and required.
  • 7+ years of Category Management experience working in a diverse supply chain organization.
  • Knowledge of negotiations, RFx sourcing processes, contract development, and ability to develop/draft complete pro forma contract terms and conditions.
  • Ability to develop a comprehensive category strategy that takes into consideration company strategy, market trends, best practices, risks, and supplier capabilities and capacity.
  • Flexibility to travel globally up to 30% of the time.
  • Experienced in working with efficiency tools and business systems, such as Oracle, SAP, Prority, MS Office, Power BI, MySQL, etc.
What We Offer
  • A competitive salary range of $121,100 to $224,900 per year.
