Job Summary

The Senior Manager role is a critical position at Avangrid, Inc. responsible for managing and executing all local and global leadership programs. This individual will work closely with the Talent Development and Learning team to understand the developmental needs of Top Talent and create inclusive, innovative, and relevant programs to meet those needs.

The Senior Manager will collaborate with business leaders to ensure alignment with business goals and work with colleagues to ensure alignment with the overall learning strategy and desired employee experience. This role will oversee a team of learning professionals responsible for Avangrid's learning journeys from individual contributors to Vice Presidents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the development needs of Avangrid employees and collaborate with business leaders and People Organization Business Partners to ensure business alignment, buy-in, and support.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify and assess skill gaps, discuss succession pool needs, and create impactful development plans for identified talent.
  • Responsible for the overall quality and effectiveness of the Learning programs to maintain Net Promoter Scores (NPS) in the best-in-class range for all local programs and develop impact evaluations to understand ROI associated with learning offerings.
  • Develop, or enhance existing learning journeys based on business needs and industry trends, and manage framework agreements and purchasing requirements for services.
  • Collaborate with onboarding and global mobility to ensure a seamless new hire experience through the Leadership Essentials Program and other initiatives.
  • Maintain relationships with other Iberdrola companies to leverage best practices and programs as appropriate to Avangrid and support the Sr Director with global program development.
  • Serve as a learning consultant to employees and departments interested in developing learning materials, activities, and development experiences and evaluate the overall effectiveness of programs.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and innovations in adult learning theory, individual contributor development, management and leadership development, and development technologies.
Requirements
  • BS/BA Degree is preferred with +5 years relevant experience; or equivalency of experience accepted.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Experience as a people leader.
  • Experience in adult learning.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a collaborative work style.
  • Proactive project management.
  • Must be able to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent active listening and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrate extremely strong analytical skills, as well as personal organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Workday talent module.
  • Experience working in a global organization balancing collaboration and coordination between global and local initiatives, best practices, and recommendations.
  • Experience leading a team in a corporate environment.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is highly desired.
