In this capacity, you will conduct thorough research and analysis of tax statutes to evaluate their implications on the organization's tax responsibilities. Your insights will be essential in uncovering tax optimization opportunities and offering strategic guidance on the tax consequences of potential transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions, and asset sales.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the annual and quarterly global income tax provision process, including the effective tax rate, deferred tax computations, taxes payable, uncertain tax positions, tax account reconciliations, journal entries, and supplementary schedules.
- Ensure compliance with SOX internal controls in tax accounting, including the design, documentation, and execution of necessary tax controls.
- Guarantee adherence to U.S. GAAP tax disclosure requirements for SEC Forms 10-K and 10-Q.
- Monitor and evaluate changes in U.S. and international tax laws and regulations to assess their impact on financial statements.
- Lead the investigation and analysis of intricate tax matters and transactions, promptly evaluating the income tax and accounting ramifications and communicating results to senior leadership.
- Collaborate with Treasury, Legal, Human Resources, Business Units, and other corporate teams to synchronize data flow requirements that meet global reporting and compliance standards.
- Support the development and implementation of tax technology solutions and data management systems to enhance automation and mitigate risks in the global tax function.
- Direct the income tax budgeting and forecasting process, including monthly global cash tax forecast reporting.
- Oversee the Company's compliance with all U.S. federal income tax laws through the timely and accurate preparation of the consolidated federal tax return and the review of complex processes and reconciliations.
- Manage the audit defense process, ensuring thorough issue analysis and negotiation of audit resolutions while fostering a relationship of trust and transparency with the IRS and other tax authorities.
- Mentor and develop staff and managers through a culture of continuous feedback. Manage co-sourcing and outsourcing partnerships with external service providers.
- Assist in identifying, developing, and executing tax planning strategies to optimize the Company's global effective tax rate and cash tax expenditures.
- Support the planning, structuring, and reporting of acquisitions and divestitures, including modeling the tax implications of transactions, purchase accounting, and tax elections.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- CPA/master's degree in taxation and/or JD/LLM.
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in income tax, managing and developing a diverse team of tax professionals.
- Expertise in complex federal, international, and transaction tax concepts.
- In-depth knowledge of ASC 740 with strong application and review experience.
- Extensive experience in leading federal income tax returns for multinational corporations.
- Familiarity with tax compliance and provision software, including ONESOURCE Tax suite.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex tax concepts to varied audiences.
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with effective prioritization in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficient in MS Office suite (primarily Word and Excel).
- Demonstrated leadership and management abilities, promoting diversity and fostering a collaborative team environment.
