Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Special Education Teacher 1 on 1 Specialist to join our team at Springfield Public Schools - MA. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individualized education to students with moderate disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans that cater to the unique needs, interests, and abilities of students.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic and personal growth.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback to parents and guardians.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and district specialists to ensure that students receive comprehensive support.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on best practices.
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum and instructional materials that meet the needs of students with moderate disabilities.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to ensure that students receive the support they need.
Qualifications
  • Highly qualified with required competency in the content area.
  • Appropriate content/program area educator license (Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities) and grade level licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
  • Bachelor's Degree with appropriate license; or Master's Degree with appropriate content area license preferred and/or expected within 5 years.
