We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Credit Policy Administrator to join our team at Alaska Airlines. As a key member of our credit and collections team, you will be responsible for administering the commercial credit policy for our company and Horizon Air.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze customer aging reports to determine collection action plans and make decisions regarding credit worthiness.
- Work directly with corporate and consumer customers to resolve disputes and ensure days sales outstanding (DSO) goals are met.
- Provide input to the Accounting Specialists regarding collection action plans and determine when in-house collection efforts have been exhausted.
- Analyze 3rd party credit reports for all customers applying for credit and decide whether applications will be approved.
- Prepare proof of claim documentation for bankruptcy proceedings and submit to our legal department.
- Prepare, organize, and enter monthly journal entries for Alaska Air Group (AAG) and prepare account reconciliations.
- Prepare QX invoices on a weekly basis and input information into People Soft and SIS for payment.
- Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or accounting, or 2 years of experience in later-stage collection action plans or a related area.
- Demonstrated knowledge of technical accounting procedures, including intercompany transfers, deferral processes, month-end closing, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Excellent analytical skills to effectively evaluate data, identify variances, and resolve discrepancies.
- Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and complete multiple tasks concurrently and within deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all customer information.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact well with internal and external customers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and other common applications.
- Experience with PeopleSoft general ledger and blackline systems.
- Airline industry experience.
We offer a competitive salary range of $54,700 to $75,700 per year, based on multiple factors, including location, relevant experience, and skillset. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including free stand-by travel privileges, comprehensive well-being programs, and a generous 401(k) match program.
