Job Summary

Northwestern Memorial Healthcare seeks a skilled Diagnostic Ultrasound Specialist to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures and provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patient requests for diagnostic ultrasound services and assess patients to determine appropriate procedure protocols.
  • Utilize equipment and accessories to generate high-quality ultrasound images, adhering to industry standards and department policies.
  • Provide patient education and support to reduce anxiety and enhance comfort during procedures.
  • Act as an agent to obtain pertinent information for physicians to aid diagnosis and treatment management.
  • Responsible for setup, sterile tray preparation, and instruction of students enrolled in approved ultrasound programs.
  • Care for patients throughout procedures, adhering to department and hospital standards of patient care.
Requirements
  • College-based two-year training program with clinical education in an accredited healthcare setting.
  • Technical competency in General Abdominal/Small Parts scanning, Abdominal Doppler, and general Gynecological scanning.
  • ARDMS (OB) certification and CPR Certification (BLS) through the American Heart Association.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
