Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Ultrasound Specialist to join our team at Cook County Health and Hospitals System. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound examinations and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes
  • Perform a variety of ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, obstetric, and vascular studies
  • Communicate effectively with medical staff, nursing personnel, and patients to ensure accurate and efficient care
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations, including positioning and immobilization
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and patient care
  • Maintain accurate records of patient information and examination results
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure high-quality patient care
Requirements
  • ARDMS certification or eligibility
  • ARRT registration
  • CPR training with Basic Life Support certification
  • One year of full-time work experience in diagnostic ultrasound
  • Completion of an approved training program in diagnostic ultrasound
Working Conditions

This position is functioning within a healthcare environment, and the incumbent is responsible for adherence to all hospital and department-specific safety requirements.
