The Maintenance Technician I role at Vestas American Wind Technology is a key position in our wind turbine blade manufacturing process. As a member of our team, you will assist in the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production and facility equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Maintenance Tech II in performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on industrial and facilities equipment.
  • Assist Maintenance Tech II in the installation of machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and test operation to ensure functionality and performance.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report to the proper supervisor.
  • Understand blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Read and understand mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic prints and symbols.
  • Understand how to calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or 1-3 years of industrial maintenance experience and/or training.
  • Must have strong technical abilities with mechanical and electrical equipment, with an ability to learn CNC experience.

  • $25-$27/hour + $3 shift differential for overnights + $3/hour for Weekend Warrior.
  • Mon-Thurs: Overnight: 6pm-4:30am or 8pm-6:30am - $3 shift diff.
  • Fri-Sun (12hr shifts) - $6 shift diff.
