The Irrigation Systems Technician is responsible for the operation, installation, maintenance, and repair of manual, semi-automatic, and automatic irrigation systems at TROLLCO INC. This role requires direct responsibility for installing, maintaining, and repairing the golf course drainage system, water tees, fairways, and greens.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the superintendent with preventative maintenance of designated systems.
- Repair irrigation system defects and perform preventative maintenance and curative maintenance on pump stations.
- Operate main pumps and pump controllers, and maintain daily records of activities and expenses.
- Check the irrigation system daily for leaks, lakes, and dry areas, and inventory irrigation parts and supplies.
- Train maintenance employees in irrigation processes and assist in reading water meters and documenting water use.
Requirements:
- One to three years of golf course maintenance experience.
- Knowledge and principles of electric, hydraulic, pipe, and fittings pump stations and record keeping.
- Understanding of agronomy, turf grass science, and Rules of Golf, as well as knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in grounds and landscape area maintenance work.
