Position Summary:
As a Patient Care Technician, you will deliver essential, direct patient support, considering the unique requirements associated with each patient's age.
You will take on the responsibility for patient care and collaborate effectively as part of the healthcare team, receiving direction and support from Registered Nurses.
All care provided will adhere to departmental policies and established Standards of Care.Qualifications:
Mandatory:
High School Diploma
BLS Certification from the American Heart Association only
Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
Strong communication and basic mathematical skills
Completion of all Orientation Programs is required
Preferred:
Prior experience as a Patient Care Technician and/or successful completion of two accredited clinical courses for Registered Nurses and/or completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program
Certifications and Licenses:
BLS certification from the American Heart Association
Work Schedule Requirements:
Nights from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Every other weekend is required, with a varying schedule during the week based on departmental needs
Full-Time (37.5 hours)
Mandatory 2-Week Orientation
Key Responsibilities:
Engage in assessing patient needs and communicate effectively with the healthcare team
Contribute to staff, patient, and/or family education in alignment with your knowledge base
Participate in unit Quality Improvement initiatives
Utilize an understanding of growth and development principles to evaluate each patient's age-specific needs and deliver appropriate treatment and care
