Job Summary:

We are seeking an EEG Technician to join our team at RWJBarnabas Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring video EEG patients, identifying seizure activities, and performing neurophysiologic tests including EEGs and video-EEG initiation for adult and pediatric patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor video EEG patients and identify seizure activities.
  • Perform neurophysiologic tests including EEGs and video-EEG initiation for adult and pediatric patients.
  • Maintain data acquired from above-listed tests.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • BLS certification required.
  • EEG Board registration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified in Video Monitoring.
  • Knowledge of neurodiagnostic tests.

Work Schedule:

  • Days.
  • Per Diem.

Essential Functions:

  • The EEG Technician is responsible for performing EEG tests when requested by a physician.
  • As part of the testing process, an EEG Technician will gather a patient's medical history, explain testing procedures, and prepare the patient for the procedure.
  • During testing, the EEG Technician monitors the patient's status and notes any abnormalities.
  • After testing is complete, the EEG Technician reports their findings to the patient's doctor for further analysis.
