Position Overview:

The United Counseling Services is seeking a skilled Mental Health Clinician to provide direct services to children and families in the Bennington, VT area.

About the Role:

">

This two-year grant-funded position under the direction of the Clinical Manager will provide assessment and counseling to children, families, and/or groups with behavioral, emotional mental health, and/or substance use needs.

Main Responsibilities:

">

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing direct clinical services, including crisis stabilization and intensive services as needed.

  • Assessing and developing treatment plans for clients, incorporating evidence-based models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT) for ages 8-13, Attachment, Regulation and Competency (ARC), Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Zero Suicide.

  • Facilitating referrals and communication between agencies on behalf of the child, ensuring seamless coordination of care.

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, adhering to all UCS recordkeeping requirements and funded regulatory standards.

  • Collaborating with teachers, school personnel, and community partners as needed, providing consultation services that are educational or evaluative in nature.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess a Master's Degree in a relevant human service field, have experience providing counseling services to families and children, and be licensed or on track for licensure in Vermont as a Social Worker, Psychologist, or Mental Health Professional.

The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of the Vermont system of care, be able to connect individuals to appropriate resources, and demonstrate competencies in screening, assessment, engagement, treatment planning, collaboration, referral, motivational interviewing, and other evidence-based counseling practices.

The United Counseling Services offers a competitive salary range of $50,000.00 - $55,910.40 per year, commensurate with experience, and opportunities for professional growth and development in a dynamic and supportive team environment.
