Position Overview: The Regional Sales Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting the Regional Sales Manager(s) (RSMs) and the commercial team throughout the sales cycle by effectively coordinating with various internal departments such as sales, estimating, engineering, and operations, while also managing customer communications externally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the initial assessment of customer documentation and specifications to consolidate and relay requirements to the structural and electrical estimating teams.
  • Oversee the delivery of proposals and maintain communication with customers following the completion of estimating.
  • Assist in all facets of the quoting process, including the preparation and submission of quote forms, obtaining bid lists, qualifying and contacting bidders, and managing proposal preparation and submission.
  • Interpret and translate customer requirements (both technical and commercial) to aid in quote development, lead time assignment, and risk assessment for design and projects.
  • Act as a liaison for customers, ensuring follow-up actions are taken to keep quotes and projects progressing smoothly.
  • Provide initial responses to inquiries, qualifying them and directing them to the appropriate sales representative, while generating and dispatching information packages and making follow-up calls.
  • Travel with RSMs as necessary to foster customer relationships.
  • Manage all customer correspondence effectively.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following:

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to gather and research information necessary to address customer RFQs.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Proficient in identifying and resolving issues promptly, analyzing information skillfully, and developing alternative solutions.
  • Technical Proficiency: Capable of evaluating customer technical requirements and negotiating to resolve any issues.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Responds promptly to customer needs and requests, ensuring commitments are met.
  • Team Collaboration: Demonstrates openness to others' views, welcomes feedback, and contributes to a positive team environment.
  • Initiative: Proactively seeks opportunities for self-development and increased responsibilities.
  • Judgment: Displays sound decision-making abilities and includes relevant stakeholders in the decision-making process.

Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration with a strong technical aptitude or equivalent experience is preferred.
