Job Summary

We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented students to join our Underwriting Professional Development Internship Program. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in commercial insurance underwriting, develop valuable skills, and learn from industry professionals. This 10-week program is a potential pathway to our 12-month Underwriting Professional Development Program (UPDP).

Responsibilities

  • Complete core assignments and training modules on insurance and underwriting principles
  • Participate in self-paced professional development courses on time management, presentation skills, and other key areas
  • Complete challenging and meaningful project work, including a territorial risk assessment and business process analysis
  • Learn about other areas at The Travelers Indemnity Company, such as Risk Control, Claims, and Corporate functions
  • Participate in the Enterprise Internship experience, including Executive Speaker Series, Networking events, and Intern Symposium
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Undergraduate students completing their sophomore or junior year preferred
  • Targeted Majors: Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Liberal Arts (with business focus preferred), Management, Marketing, Risk Management and Insurance
