Nurse Extern II

Job Summary:

Christus Health is seeking a Nurse Extern II to participate in our clinical experience program. As a Nurse Extern II, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced Registered Nurses and gain valuable hospital experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the care of hospitalized patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Perform various direct patient care activities in accordance with Nursing Department policies and procedures.
  • May be assigned other functions in accordance with hospital/department policies, procedures, and protocols.

Requirements:

A. Education/Skills:

  • Currently enrolled in a nursing program to obtain either an associate degree or bachelor's degree to become a registered nurse.
  • Must have completed their first hospital clinical rotation and be in good standing in the nursing program.
  • Proficient in basic nursing tasks.
  • Provides updated transcript at time of interview and beginning of each semester until graduation.
  • Six (6) months experience in patient care preferred.
  • AHA BLS required within 2 weeks of employment.

Work Type:

Per Diem As Needed
