As part of our Transportation Group, you will work under the guidance of a project manager to develop stormwater designs and plans for various governmental and municipal agencies. The role offers flexibility with remote work options, requiring a self-driven individual who thrives both independently and in a collaborative environment. Experience with governmental projects is highly valued. A typical day may involve conducting stormwater design analyses, coordinating with roadway engineers and environmental specialists, and supervising the creation of stormwater plans.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead drainage engineering tasks to ensure successful project delivery within established scope, timeline, and budget, while collaborating with project teams and subcontractors.
  • Design and analyze roadway stormwater management and conveyance systems.
  • Create comprehensive drainage plans, including plan views, ditch profiles, drainage structure sheets, erosion control measures, and stormwater pollution prevention strategies.
  • Oversee quality assurance of drainage designs and plans produced by team members.
  • Compile project design documentation in line with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Prepare Estimated Quantities Reports and cost assessments.
  • Engage with key clients to present innovative solutions for complex drainage issues.
  • Stay informed about new methodologies and technologies in stormwater and drainage design.
  • Participate in marketing and business development activities, including client meetings, concept development, proposal writing, and presentation preparation.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is essential.
  • EIT certification is required, with the ability to secure a Professional Engineer (PE) License in Florida within one year.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in drainage engineering.
  • Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Familiarity with the FDOT Design Manual, Standard Plans, Drainage Manual, and other relevant design standards.
  • Proficient in modeling software and understanding permitting requirements.
  • Experience with OpenRoads Designer and FDOT Connect software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • This role may require occasional travel, approximately 15% or more.
