Position Overview

A leading firm in land development is seeking a Project Civil Engineer to enhance its operations in Central Florida.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, design, and approval processes for civil engineering and infrastructure initiatives. Ensure effective communication with clients;
  • Design and manage site layout, grading, drainage systems, and erosion control measures from initial concept to final execution;
  • Foster relationships with new clients while maintaining strong connections with existing ones;
  • Handle multiple projects and tasks within defined budgets and timelines. Monitor financials and schedules to minimize overruns;
  • Prepare and review technical reports, including feasibility studies and stormwater management documentation;
  • Provide specialized knowledge in hydrologic and hydraulic design, including preparation of SWPPP and ensuring water quality compliance;
  • Collaborate with leadership to strategize growth and optimize staff resources;
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering;
  • Current Professional Engineer license;
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in site and civil land development;
  • Familiarity with local land use regulations and processes;
  • Strong skills in client development, communication, and management;
  • Experience in designing site layouts and managing various project aspects from concept to completion;
  • Proven ability to manage projects effectively through all phases;
  • Self-motivated with leadership qualities to mentor and guide team members;
  • Ability to collaborate on multi-disciplinary projects;
  • Expertise in stormwater management and related design;
  • Experience in technical writing and proposal development;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Civil 3D;
  • Ability to interact effectively with colleagues, clients, and regulatory bodies;
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills;
  • Capable of working independently as well as part of a team;
  • Possess reliable transportation for client engagements and site assessments.
